What's New « Back Malaysia Festival 2018, 1 September 2018The annual Malaysian Festival was held on 1-2 September 2018 at Tumbalong Park, Sydney, Australia. The Malaysian Festival, a non-profit event organised by Malaysian students, is dedicated to sharing the wonders and joys of Malaysian culture and cuisine. Started in 1990, as a university-bazaar type food bazar, it has grown into a celebration of all things Malaysian attended by more than 38,000 visitors annually. Dato’ Sudha Devi, High Commissioner officiated the event together with Mr. Damien Tudehope, Member of Epping, Representing Premier of NSW and Mr. Robert Kok, Councillor, Representing Lord Mayor of Sydney.
The two-day programme showcased traditional Malay dance and performance as well as Malaysian delicacies such as satay, nasi lemak, kuih-muih and also durian. Several Malaysian entrepreneurs also took the opportunity to promote Malaysian snacks and food products as part of their marketing initiative.
