1) VISA APPLICATION FOR FOREIGNERS 

 

AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY (ACT)

  • All visa application can be submitted in-Person at the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra. Submission must be done by appointment. 
  • All submission in person with complete required documents will obtain the visa on the same day.
  • Please submit your application between 9.30 am - 11.30 am and collect your travel document after 3.00 p.m.

NEW SOUTH WALES (NSW) AND QUEENSLAND (QLD)

  •  All visa application can be submitted by Post at the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra. Submmission by post must be sent exactly ONE (1) MONTH PRIORT TO TRAVEL. 
  • Applications by post are only accepted from states without Mission's office.
  • Applicants must hold long term Australian Visa (minimum 1 year).
  • Complete applications are processed within 14 working days (3 weeks) from the date of receiving the application. 
  • Application sent to Canberra, please use Express Post Platinum envelope and send to:

       High Commission of Malaysia (Immigration Section)

       7 Perth Avenue,

       Yarralumla ACT 2600

  • Kindly provide self address express post platinum envelope for the return of your travel document. Please record the express post platinum tracking number and check the status with the Australia Post website as we do not hold this information.
  • Please make exact amount for visa fee payment. Term of payment must be in Money Order or Bank Cheque ONLY and payable to the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra.
  • High Commission of Malaysia shall not be liable for any losses or damages during the post delivery. Therefore, any claims for losses or damages will not be entertained.

2) VISA REQUIREMENT

  • Australian Citizens do not need a Visa to visit Malaysia provided:
  1. Passport is still valid for at least 6 months on arrival;
  2. Visit is up to 3 months only; and
  3. Return or onward international ticket have been confirmed.

3) VISA FEES

  • Please click "Document" button at the DOWNLOAD section bottom right of this website page to see Visa Fees by countries.
  • Payment shall be made in form of CASH, MONEY ORDER AND BANK CHEQUE ONLY payable to the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra.  Credit Card, Personal Cheque and Business Cheque are not acceptable.   

4) TRANSIT PASS

  • A transit pass is issued to travellers who are transiting in Malaysia only for less than 120 hours before continuing to their final destination BY AIR only. It is valid for certain countries and can only remain in KUALA LUMPUR during transit. 
  • The decision to issue a Transit Pass is subject to Immigration Officer discretion at point of entry. Applying a visa prior to travelling is most advisable.
  • Bridging Visa E holder is not entitle to obtain Transit Pass.
  • Entitled Countries - Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Taiwan.

5) STUDENT PASS

  • Submission and processing of Student Pass is in Malaysia only. 
  • Contact the University/Institution that you wish to study in Malaysia.
  • The University/Institution will apply on your behalf to the Immigration Office in Malaysia.
  • Once approval is given, a letter will be sent to the University/Institution and applicant.
  • The approval letter may request the applicant to apply for a Visa, with reference from the High Commission. 
  • If the approval letter does not request for a Visa with Reference, then applicant may travel to Malaysia with the letter of approval. 
  • Applicant's passport must be valid at least 6 months at the time of entry into Malaysia. 

6) EMPLOYMENT PASS

  • Submission and processing of Employment Pass is in Malaysia only.
  • Apply for a position in a company/employer in Malaysia.
  • The company/employer in Malaysia will apply on your behalf to the Immigration Office in Malaysia.
  • Once approval is given, a letter will be sent to the company/employer and applicant.
  • The approval letter may request the applicant to apply for a Visa with reference from the High Commission.
  • If the approval letter does not request for a Visa with Reference, then applicant may travel to Malaysia with the letter of approval.
  • Applicant's passport must be valid at least 6 months at the time of entry into Malaysia.
